The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has released a video showcasing the Rover of Chandrayaan-3 descending from its Lander to touch down on the lunar surface. This follows ISRO's earlier release of a photograph featuring Chandrayaan-3's Lander on the moon's surface, as captured by Chandrayaan-2's Orbiter High-Resolution Camera. ISRO achieved a historic milestone with the successful soft landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the lunar surface at 6:04 pm on a Wednesday evening. This accomplishment solidifies India's position as the pioneer in achieving a gentle landing near the lunar south pole, making it only the fourth country in history—following the United States, the Soviet Union, and China—to accomplish such a feat. ISRO has confirmed the normal functioning of all Chandrayaan-3 systems and the continuation of planned activities, just a day after the successful landing.
