Hyderabad: A distressing incident unfolded at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Hyderabad, as another student succumbed to suicide reportedly due to mental stress. Mamitha Nayak (21), a first-year M.Tech student from Odisha, was found hanging in her hostel room on Monday night. Nayak's fellow students discovered her lifeless body suspended from the ceiling fan. They promptly notified the hostel authorities, who subsequently informed the Sangareddy rural police. The tragic incident has cast a shadow over the institute, with her body being transferred for autopsy. Authorities discovered a suicide note in her room, in which she asserted that her decision was driven by mental stress and no external factors were to blame.
