ISRO is getting ready to guide "Chandrayaan-3" into its path around the Moon on August 5, at approximately 7 pm IST. The spacecraft has already completed about two-thirds of its journey towards the Moon. Earlier this month, on August 5, ISRO successfully used a technique called Trans Lunar Injection (TLI) to give Chandrayaan-3 the boost it needed to head towards the Moon. The spacecraft was put into this path from ISTRAC in Bengaluru on August 1. Chandrayaan-3 is now taking a longer route to reach the Moon, and ISRO is using a series of burns to gradually raise its path. The important step of placing Chandrayaan-3 into lunar orbit, known as Lunar-Orbit Insertion (LOI), is planned for August 5, 2023. The whole world watched with excitement as Chandrayaan-3 took off on July 14. ISRO launched India's third mission to explore the Moon from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota on that day.
