In a surprising development, the Tirupati Tirumala Trust (TTD) has decided not to purchase ghee from the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) to make its renowned laddus. This decision comes after nearly 50 years of sourcing ghee from KMF for the delectable laddus. The president of KMF, Bhima Nayak, revealed that TTD did not agree with the price offered by KMF and has opted for another company to procure ghee instead. Despite TTD praising the superior taste of laddus made with KMF ghee on several occasions, the agreement with KMF is coming to an end. Addressing reporters in Ballari, Nayak explained, "Due to an increase in milk prices from August 1, the ghee prices have also risen. TTD has found a new company that offers ghee at a more affordable rate to make Tirupati Laddus. Consequently, after many years, we had to stop supplying Nandini ghee to TTD."
