Warangal: Heavy rains have caused ponds to overflow across the state, leading to the flooding of streams and bends. Numerous projects have reached their full capacity, necessitating the release of lakhs of cusecs of water downstream. The situation has become severe in many areas, with ponds and embankments facing breaches, causing water to spill over roads and disrupting traffic. In Warangal, the Bhadrakali pond experienced flooding, and the embankment on the Potana Nagar side suffered a breach under the surging floodwaters. As a result, water from the pond is now flowing into nearby colonies like Saraswati Nagar and Potana Nagar. Officials are working diligently to address the situation, attempting to repair the breached embankment and minimize further damage.
