imphal: A shocking video capturing the distressing incident of two women being paraded naked on a road by a group of men in Manipur has gone viral on social media, sparking widespread outrage and demands for justice. According to the Indigenous Tribal Leaders' Forum (ITLF), the two women were allegedly gang-r*ped in a field in Kangpokpi district, situated about 35 km from the state capital, Imphal. While the police claimed the incident occurred in a different district, the first information report (FIR) was filed in Kangpokpi. Just a day before this horrifying event, clashes erupted between the Meitei community, mainly residing in the valley, and the Kuki tribe, which predominantly inhabits the hills. The conflict stemmed from the Meiteis' demand for Scheduled Tribes (ST) status.
