Vijayawada: Purandeswari has taken the reins as the new Andhra Pradesh State BJP president, in a ceremony at the BJP state office in Vijayawada. Draped with a shawl, presented with a flower bouquet and fed with traditional sweets, she received a warm welcome from her predecessor, former state president Somu Veerraju, as well as many key party leaders. Immediately following the takeover, Purandeswari expressed her criticisms of the current state government in a press briefing. She focused on the deteriorating road conditions in Andhra Pradesh, arguing that despite the central government’s funding, the state had not constructed a single road.
