Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced on Saturday that the Vande Bharat Express, India's prestigious semi-high speed train, will sport a new color scheme inspired by the Indian national flag. The revelation took place during a review meeting of the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai. The Minister stated that the distinct saffron color will be applied to the 28th rake of the Vande Bharat Express, currently under construction at the ICF. The saffron-hued Vande Bharat Express, however, is not yet operational and remains stationed at the ICF. Presently, the train is undergoing rigorous trials, with plans for its official launch in the upcoming months. Currently, a total of 25 rakes of the Vande Bharat Express are in operation, operating smoothly along their designated routes. Additionally, two rakes have been reserved for future utilization. Railway officials have clarified that the color change for the 28th rake is being implemented on a trial basis.
