Renowned film-maker S.S. Rajamouli has taken a trip down memory lane, reminiscing about his childhood days in Kovvur, Andhra Pradesh, where he used to share a cricket bat with his friends. Inspired by these memories, Rajamouli has accepted the chairmanship of the Indian Schools Board of Cricket (ISBC) to bolster the promotion of cricket in rural India. Rajamouli, known for his blockbuster movies, also expressed his admiration for the legendary cricketer MS Dhoni. Drawing parallels between their humble beginnings, Rajamouli spoke highly of Dhoni's journey from a small town to leading India to two World Cup victories. He finds Dhoni's story truly inspirational and hopes to see more talented individuals like him emerge from rural areas through this significant initiative. Taking up the role of chairman for the ISBC, Rajamouli aims to provide the necessary support and encouragement for cricket development in rural regions of India.
