In the spiritual heart of Vijayawada, the revered Kanakadurgamma temple, located on the sacred Indrakeeladri hill, witnessed a massive influx of devotees who came to receive blessings from Sakambari Devi. The faithful gathered en masse to pay homage to Amma Durgamma, resulting in packed queues snaking around the temple. In an extraordinary event today, the temple became the setting for an auspicious presentation of a golden bonam by the members of the Telangana Old City Joint Temples Committee to Bezwada Durgamma. This grand offering was marked by a vibrant display of teenmar dappu music, daring stunts by pothuraju, traditional betala dances, and mesmerizing kolatas. This ritual of offering the bonam, a significant aspect of Telugu religious culture, to Bejavada Durgamma has been followed faithfully by the committee members for the past 14 years. They prayed for Durgamma's blessings over the Telugu states.
