K.T. Rama Rao, Telangana's Minister of Municipal Administration and Urban Development, held a meeting with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on Friday, urging him to reallocate certain defence lands in Hyderabad. The state government seeks to use these lands for the development of skyways and various infrastructure projects. Post-meeting, KT Rama Rao reiterated to the press that the state's request to the central government had been centred around the acquisition of lands for constructing skyways. The state's proposals include construction of skyways from Jubilee Bus Stand to Rajiv Rahdari and from Paradise Circle to Medchal Outer Ring Road. Rama Rao highlighted that his meeting with Singh was intended to reemphasize these requests. Moreover, the state government has proposed to utilize defence lands for a road connecting Golconda and Ibrahim Bagh.
