In a recent declaration to the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), Adani Enterprises Limited announced that its subsidiary, Digital Labs, has acquired TrainMan, an online train booking and information platform. The acquisition sees Adani Group seizing a 100 per cent stake in the startup, although the financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed. TrainMan was founded by Vineet Chirania and Karan Kumar, alumni of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee. The platform is recognized as an authorized booking startup by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) and provides valuable, real-time information related to seat availability, Passenger Name Record (PNR) status, and live train statuses among other services.
