West Bengal: In a shocking incident, a wheel of the last coach of the Midnapore-Howrah local train derailed at Kharagpur yard on Saturday around 10:15 pm and triggered panic among passengers and officials. Fortunately, the train was operating at a slow speed, averting any major accident, and no casualties were reported. According to the sources, railway officials swiftly reached the scene and conducted the re-railment process. The passengers were safely evacuated without any harm. The exact cause of the wheel derailment is currently under investigation. It is said that the wheel came off the tracks, causing the derailment. However, services in the affected section resumed after the fifth coach from the engine was successfully lifted back onto the line. This incident comes just weeks after the devastating triple-train crash on June 2, which tragically claimed the lives of 288 people at Bahanagar Bazar railway station, approximately 140 km away from the recent incident.
