Odisha: Just weeks after the tragic triple train crash on Black Friday in Balasore district, another major train accident was narrowly avoided thanks to the presence of mind and quick actions of a railway staffer. The incident occurred at Manjuri Road station, situated under the jurisdiction of Bhandaripokhari police limits in Bhadrak district yesterday. According to sources, a large boulder had become lodged in the middle of the interlock at Manjuri Road station, posing a significant risk of derailing any passing train. The potential consequences could have been disastrous. However, a vigilant railway staffer noticed the obstruction and promptly alerted the concerned officials. Swift action was taken, and the boulder was promptly removed, averting a possible catastrophe. In response to the incident, the station manager has filed a complaint with the Railway Protection Force (RPF), seeking an investigation into the matter.
