The audio of a phone call between two officers discussing the incident has now gone viral on social media, adding to the public's scrutiny of the incident. It is said that the inquiry into the mishap, led by the Principal Chief Secretary Officer of South Western Railway and the Deputy Chief Safety Officer of the Traffic Department, sought to understand the chain of events leading to the accident. From the conversation, it was discovered that the railway staff working at the site had mistakenly connected the main line to the loop line but failed to reconnect it after completing their work. Tragically, the station master, unaware of this oversight, gave the green signal to the Coromandel Express on the main line, resulting in the collision. Due to the misalignment caused by
