Jharkhand: A Hyderabad resident, V. Sarath Babu, was shot dead by Maoists in the Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand on Tuesday. According to the sources, the incident occurred when he was travelling to the site office in a friend's vehicle as part of his work duty. Sarath Babu was a general manager in a company owned by CM Ramesh, a member of the Rajya Sabha in Jharkhand state. He had gone to Jharkhand four days ago for contract work. When he reached the Barkagaon Forest Department guest house, Maoists opened fire on him, killing him on the spot. His bodyguard, Rajendra Prasad, also sustained serious bullet injuries in the attack. Sarath Babu was 58 years old and lived with his family members in Sunshine Apartment in Vijayapuri Colony, Kothapet, Hyderabad. He belonged to the Consumer Forum office area near Khammam's Indira Nagar. He is survived by his wife and son. The local police have registered a case and started an investigation
