The controversy over the Nandi awards given by the two Telugu state governments to the Telugu film industry continues. Recently, Telangana Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav responded to the issue, following a war of words between film producers and AP Film Development Corporation Chairman Posani Krishna Murali. Addressing the controversy, the Minister, while reacting to Producer Ashwini Dutt's remarks, stated that no important person had approached the government on behalf of the film industry for Nandi awards. He added that they will not give Nandi awards if irresponsible people ask for them. In response to criticism of the Telangana government, the Minister highlighted how the state government had handled the crisis in the Telangana film industry regarding 24 crafts, shooting issues, fifth show permission, and single window shooting permission. The Minister also acknowledged that the Nandi Awards function was not held after the state bifurcation. He revealed that the government is planning to organize the Nandi Awards function next year.
