Hyderabad: During his address at the Kashi-Telugu Sangamam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the deep connections between Kashi and the Telugu Samaj, and highlighted the holy shrine of Vemulawada, which is often referred to as "Dakshina Kashi". He explained that Telugu states have contributed many great saints, acharyas, and sages to Kashi and underlined the significance of the black thread tied on the hands in the temples of Andhra and Telangana, which is called "Kashi Daram". The PM's mention of Vemulawada, a temple town in Telangana known for its Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Temple, highlights the cultural exchange and interconnectivity between different regions of India.
