Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia's judicial custody has been extended until May 1st by a special court on Monday. Sisodia has been accused of corruption in the formulation and execution of the now-defunct liquor policy for 2021-22, in relation to the alleged Delhi excise scam. The Rouse Avenue Court has extended Sisodia's judicial custody in both the CBI and ED cases related to the alleged irregularities in the scrapped excise policy. During his appearance before Special CBI Judge MK Nagpal, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) requested an extension of Sisodia's custody for two more weeks, which was granted. The case against Sisodia involves allegations of illegal activities, including embezzlement of funds. He was initially arrested by the CBI on February 26th.
