The Chief Justice of India, D Y Chandrachud, expressed anger during a Supreme Court hearing on Tuesday when a lawyer attempted to request an early hearing of his case before a different bench. According to one of the news agencies, the CJI warned the lawyer, 'Don't mess with my authority' after he had already been informed that the case would be heard on April 17. The lawyer then requested the liberty to mention the case before another bench, which further irked the CJI. The normally composed CJI expressed his irritation and warned the lawyer not to pull any pranks on him. The term 'responsibility' refers to the act of determining whether or not a person is responsible for their actions. The lawyer, sensing the mood of the bench, apologized and requested that his submissions be excused.
