Hyderabad: The working president of the BRS, KT Rama Rao, has called for a Maha Dharna on Saturday in opposition to the auction of coal blocks in the state, coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Hyderabad. KTR recalled the PM's promise during his visit to Ramagundam on November 11, 2022, that Singareni would not be privatised, and accused him of not standing by his assurance. He called for the people and Singareni workers to organise protests against the Centre's decision to auction coal blocks in Sattupalli Block 3, Shravan Palli, Penagadapa, which is scheduled to take place from March 29 to May 30. Minister KTR demanded that the auctioning process be rolled back and the coal blocks be allocated to SCCL without auctioning. The BRS leaders, activists, and Singareni employees will stage protests against the Centre's decision in Mancherial, Kothagudem, and Ramagundam on April 8, according to KTR.
