Modi Degree Controversy: Kejriwal Penalized by Gujarat High Court

In a significant development, the Gujarat High Court has ruled that the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) is not obligated to provide the graduate and post-graduate degree certificates of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Justice Biren Vaishnav, delivering the verdict, not only set aside the 2016 order of the Chief Information Commission (CIC) but also imposed a hefty fine of Rs 25,000 on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for his request to access PM Modi's degree certificate.

The court has given CM Kejriwal a strict four-week deadline to deposit the amount with the Gujarat State Legal Services Authority.
