Emotional moment at Padma Awards 2023: Social Worker blesses PM Modi
Hirbai Ibrahim Lobi, a 70-year-old social worker, received the Padma Shri award from President Droupadi Murmu for her work in improving the lives of the Siddi tribal community in Gujarat. Lobi is recognized for her contributions towards social reforms and empowering women in the community.
During the award ceremony held at the President's House in New Delhi, Lobi stopped briefly near the first row where several top-ranking government officials were seated, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. In a show of gratitude, she praised Modi for his work with the tribals and stretched her dupatta to bless him. Modi listened to her with respect and folded hands.
In another instance, Lobi expressed her affection for President Murmu, who is India's first female President from the tribal community, by placing her hands on her shoulders to convey her blessings.
