The International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin on the grounds of purported war crimes in Ukraine. According to the Hague-based ICC, the Russian President bears responsibility for the war crimes that were committed by the Russian forces during the ongoing war in Ukraine that has lasted for more than a year. The ICC alleges that Putin is accountable for two types of war crimes committed in Ukraine. Firstly, the unlawful deportation of children from the occupied areas of Ukraine, and secondly, the unlawful transfer of children from these regions to the Russian Federation. The ICC's announcement on Friday stated that the Russian President has been implicated in these crimes.
