A gripping footage depicts a man fighting for his life after being swept into the turbulent Los Angeles River on Wednesday. The authorities were alerted around 5 p.m. of a person in distress just south of Washington Boulevard in Boyle Heights. The Los Angeles Fire Department immediately dispatched both air and ground units to the location. The video footage showed the man desperately clinging onto a large concrete wall at the riverbank's edge as a rescue team member descended from a helicopter, braving the rushing waters. After several careful attempts, the rescue member finally succeeded in getting a grip on the man and pulled him out of the treacherous river. Following his rescue, the man was airlifted to the nearest Medical Center for immediate medical attention.
