Leaders of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) held a demonstration to express their disapproval of the offensive comments made by Bandi Sanjay, the president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Telangana, against BRS Member of the Legislative Council (MLC), Kavitha. The Telangana Women's Commission has condemned Bandi Sanjay for his controversial statements about Kavitha and has taken suo motu cognizance of the matter. Sunitha Lakshma Reddy, the chairperson of the Women's Commission, has reportedly instructed the state Director General of Police (DGP) to investigate Sanjay's remarks. The Women's Commission is also likely to write to the National Commission for Women on the same issue. Meanwhile, a case has been registered against Bandi Sanjay at Banjara Hills police station, following a complaint lodged by BRS leaders.
