Secunderabad Cantonment BRS MLA G Sayanna has passed away at the age of 64 due to kidney ailments on Sunday afternoon at Yashoda Hospitals in Secunderabad. Sayanna was a five-time MLA and started his political journey with Telugu Desam Party (TDP). He won the MLA seat thrice between 1994 and 2009 as a TDP candidate. In 2014, he defeated both TRS and Congress to become the MLA for TDP in the same constituency where he had lost in the 2009 elections. Sayanna was also elected as a member of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam's (TTD) board in 2015. After 2014, Sayanna joined TRS (now BRS) and served as the MLA until his last breath. Sayanna was known as a humble and polite leader who always worked towards the welfare of the people of Secunderabad Cantonment.
