Fire breaks out at Vamsadhara Paper mill in Srikakulam
Srikakulam: A massive fire broke out on the night of February 16 at the Vamsadhara paper mill in Narasannapeta, Srikakulam. The fire started in the rewinder unit, where paper cutting takes place, as per the reports provided by the labourers and villagers who were present at the scene. The workers acted swiftly, raising the alarm and seeking assistance from the villagers.
However, the fire had already spread to the paper cutting machines, causing significant damage to the property. It took a while for the fire brigade teams from Srikakulam and Narsannapeta to reach the spot due to the rapid spread of the flames. They worked tirelessly for around an hour and a half to put out the fire.
The cause of the fire is suspected to be a short circuit, according to initial reports. While no injuries or loss of life were reported, the damage to the property is estimated to be in crores.
