Udaipur: A termite infestation caused an uproar among customers at a Punjab National Bank (PNB) branch in Udaipur's Kalaji Goraji. Sunita Mehta, an account holder, found that her notes stored in locker number 265 were destroyed by the pests, with lower denomination notes of Rs 15,000 completely ruined, and Rs 500 notes partially destroyed. Sunita immediately complained to the bank and was reimbursed the Rs 15,000 lost due to the infestation. The incident caused concern among other account holders who arrived at the branch office to demand answers and accuse the bank of neglect. PNB has acknowledged the incident and promised to take proper action, but the event raises questions about the security of people's money in bank lockers.
