The Indian Army's "Operation Dost" is in full swing as they respond to the devastation caused by the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria on February 6th. With India emerging as a quick responder, the Indian Army has set up a fully functional field hospital in Hatay, Turkey complete with running medical, surgical and emergency wards. On Thursday evening, the Army's Public Information shared a touching photo from the disaster zone that quickly went viral. The image showed a female Indian officer receiving a warm embrace and kiss from a grateful Turkish citizen, capturing the essence of the selfless service and compassion the Indian Army has brought to the relief effort. The tweet was captioned with "We Care." India has sent six flights filled with search and rescue teams, canine units, medicines, and medical equipment to assist in the relief efforts. The death toll from the earthquake has tragically risen to over 17,500.
