Anganwadi workers launched protests demanding Gratiuty and Identification as Govt. Employees
In order to get Anganwadi workers recognised as government employees, the state Anganwadi workers' union besieged the Kurnool collector's office. They have complained that none of the promises made by CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to Anganwadis have been kept.
Anganwadi workers also organised a large demonstration on Monday outside the Gandhi statue near the GVMC in Vizag, demanding, among other things, the removal of the "facial recognition" software and payment of Rs 26,000 as the minimum salary.
The protest has also been started by a sizable number of Anganwadi workers from Srikakulam, Bapatla, Nellore, and other districts. They claim that their salaries have not increased in the last three years.
