Visakha-Kirandul train derailed, major accident averted
Visakhapatnam: A catastrophic event was narrowly avoided in the Visakhapatnam district when a passenger train derailed near Kashipatnam in Anantagiri Mandal. The Visakha-Kirandol passenger train was en route when a coach dislodged from the tracks. However, due to the vigilance and quick thinking of the driver, a major accident was averted.
Passengers, family members and railway officials expressed relief as no injuries were reported as a result of the incident. Despite this, arrangements have been made to restore the train service.
Railway officials attribute the derailment to the inclement weather conditions prevalent in the hilly regions during this time of year. Due to the holiday season, a heavy crowd thronged to the Araku valley.
