R'Bonney Gabriel of the United States was named Miss Universe 2022 in the grand finale of the 71st Miss Universe competition, held on January 14th at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. The event was aired live and was attended by over 80 women from around the world, competing for the prestigious title. Miss Universe 2021, Harnaaz Sandhu, crowned Gabriel as the winner. Venezuela's Amanda Dudamel placed second, with the Dominican Republic's Andreina Martinez coming in as the second runner-up. Divita Rai of India made it to the top 16, but was unable to advance further. Despite this, she made the country proud with her appearance in the final competition wearing a beautiful pink dress and gown.
