Lalu Yadav, the head of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), has a message for his well-wishers as he is recuperating in a hospital in Singapore following kidney transplant operations.

Lalu. Yadav in a video that his eldest daughter Misa Bharti posted on Twitter, remarked, "You all prayed for me, I am in good spirits.''

The veteran lawmaker, 74, underwent successful surgery on Monday. Early-40s-old Rohini Acharya, his daughter, gave father her kidney.

Even Ms. Acharya's father's political adversaries have been praising her for giving Yadav a kidney.

Rohini showed his father a picture of himself before surgery a few hours prior to the procedure. "I'm ready to roll. Please wish me luck," she tweeted.
