YS Sharmila speaks to media after her caravan allegedly burnt by TRS workers
Members of the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi allegedly attacked and set fire to the caravan that YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP) supremo YS Sharmila was using to relax while on her current "Praja Prasthanam Padayatra" on Monday (TRS). They shouted slogans, 'Sharmila, go back'. The incident happened close to Lingagiri village in the Warangal district's Chennaraopeta mandal.
Reports indicated that YS Sharmila has not, however, halted her padayatra. She kept up her marathon walk.
Later, while speaking to the media, YS Sharmila said that they and social media both had videos of TRS cadre setting a bus and other cars on fire. It is very regrettable that some police personnel are supporting the government and interfering with our efforts to engage the public and address their concerns, Sharmila allegedly remarked following the event. She enquired as to whether the police would detain the accused and open an investigation. Supporters of YS Sharmila at the time chanted, "KCR, down. down."
