Can't use Amitabh Bachchan's name, voice, photo without permission: Court
In support of seasoned Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, the Delhi High Court issued an interim injunction on Friday prohibiting a number of people and organisations from violating his publicity and personality rights.
The actor had sued a number of companies, including those running the bogus "Kaun Banega Crorepati" lottery fraud, mobile application developers who were abusing his name, picture, and voice, book publishers, T-shirt sellers, and other entities.
Ameet Naik, Pravin Anand, and senior attorney Harish Salve represented Bachchan in the High Court.
This historic decision forbids anybody from utilising Mr. Bachchan's name, likeness, voice, or other personality traits without his permission and authorization, whether through physical or digital methods.
