On November 4, in Gummalladoddi, the chief minister Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy held bhumi puja for the construction of Assago Industries' Rs 270 crore bio-ethanol manufacturing plant at the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Park, in the East Godavari district. According to reports, it has a two lakh litre daily production capacity with no liquid outflow. The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister said in his speech to the crowd at Gummalladoddi village in Gokavaram Mandal that the project was a result of the Davos meetings and that it was launched within six months to serve as a model for the "Ease of Doing Business" in Andhra Pradesh. By saying that this factory will create hundreds of jobs either directly or indirectly, he has pleased the locals. According to Mr. Jagan, this ethanol facility will provide farmers with immediate solution in a number of ways.
