Jairam Ramesh, a senior member of the Congress, claimed that the Bharat Jodo Yatra is an effort to revive the party and is opposed to Prime Minister Modi's policies and the spread of economic inequality. In an interview with a media outlet, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh stated that the party had reached its lowest point in Andhra Pradesh and that it had been decimated. He added that the party's revival would be challenging and could not be accomplished in two years, in time for the state's 2024 Assembly elections. He further asserts that KCR is dreaming if he believes he can serve as the centre of an anti-BJP coalition without Congress' participation.
