Shockingly, the scientists found microplastics in mothers' breast milk and raising many questions about the health risks for infants. As per the study published in the Polymers journal, the scientists discovered microplastics containing polyethene, PVC and polypropylene in breast milk. It is mentioned that the samples were taken from 34 healthy mothers after one week of giving birth in Italy. Shockingly, the scientists traced microplastics in 75 per cent of samples. The scientists also stated that the advantages of mothers' breast milk are more than the disadvantages of microplastic. Therefore they asked the mothers not to stop breastfeeding their infants.
