Following his alleged claim that he joined the BJP after receiving a contract of Rs 18,000 crore, Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy, a BJP candidate for the Munugode Assembly by-election, has been challenged by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS). A delegation of TRS leaders, including party secretaries Srinivas Reddy and Soma Bharat, as well as MLA Gadari Kishore and MP B. Lingaiah, visited state Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj and presented a petition calling for Rajagopal Reddy to be disqualified from running in the November 3 by-election. The team informed the CEO that Rajagopal Reddy mentioned in a television appearance that he joined the BJP after his business was awarded a contract for Rs 18,000 crore by the Central government.
