As part of its 90th anniversary celebrations, the Indian Air Force (IAF) revealed new combat uniforms for its members on Saturday. Also stated by the IAF chief was the addition of more female aviators starting in 2019. In Chandigarh, the IAF is commemorating its 90th birthday. IAF Day is being commemorated outside of Delhi-NCR for the first time this year. Afterwards, there was a march-past. When the IAF head arrived, three Mi-17V5 in ensign formation flew past. The first image of what is referred to as a digitally camouflaged uniform for air forces ground soldiers was unveiled by Air Chief Marshal V R Chaudhari. The combat fatigues now have pixelated, all-terrain friendly designs. In honour of the IAF's 90th anniversary, Chief of Air Staff V R Chaudhari announced that the establishment of a weapon system branch for IAF officers has received approval from the Central government.
