Sonia Gandhi, the interim president of the Congress, participated in the Karnataka leg of the Bharat Jodo Yatra on Thursday in the Mandya district. About one kilometre from Bellale, where the march began, Sonia Gandhi joined Rahul Gandhi. After roughly a kilometre of walking, Rahul encouraged her to take a car for the first portion of the march. After sometime, Sonia Gandhi once again walked beside her son Rahul Gandhi and other leaders for a few kilometres in the Mandya district of Karnataka amid shouts and slogan screaming from party supporters. Rahul Gandhi is seen strolling for a while before bending down to his mother Sonia Gandhi to fasten her shoelace. These pictures have been widely shared.
