The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS), the state's ruling party, changed its name to 'Bharat Rashtra Samiti' (BRS) on Wednesday . The party's entry into national politics can be seen in this action on the day of Dussehra. In a speech at Pragathi Bhavan in Hyderabad, Chief Minister K. Chandra Sekhar Rao stated that the general body meeting unanimously approved the renaming of TRS as BRS. Following it, party members light firecrackers in front of the TRS office to celebrate the news. According to sources, the Party General Secretary requested permission from the Election Commission to change the name of the organisation from TRS to BRS in a letter.
