Live: TRS extended party level meeting on Dasara day with 283 members; TRS may change to BRS!
The announcement that K Chandrasekhar Rao, the chief minister of Telangana and president of the Rashtra Samithi, will declare the founding of the national party on October 5, in conjunction with the Vijaya Dasami festival, is now more or less official.
The announcement would be made by CM KCR at precisely 1:19 pm, when the TRS legislature party and state executive committee of the party pass a resolution on the foundation of a national party, according to several media outlets.
283 members, all of the party's top leaders, including MPs, MLAs, MLCs, and senior state-level leaders, were reportedly asked to attend Telangana Bhavan on that day for KCR's important statement. KCR will announce the party's name after introducing it at the gathering; unless he has another idea in mind, it will likely be Bharata Rashtriya Samithi (BRS). At the same meeting, he would also reveal the TRS national coordinators.
