A ceremony hosted by the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA) at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi on October 1, 2022, honoured the cleanest States and cities of Azaadi@75 Swachh Survekshan 2022 and marked the start of the largest annual celebration of urban sanitation. The Swachh Bharat Mission - Urban 2.0, which had the aspirational goal of establishing garbage-free cities, was introduced on this day one year ago by the Hon. Prime Minister. Numerous luminaries have been present for the award ceremony. The award ceremony took place as part of the Swachh Amrit Mohotsav, which MoHUA has been hosting from September 17 through October 2, 2022, as India commemorates SBM-eight Urban's years of success.
