Viral Video: Elephant joins Football game in Army camp, kicks for a bit, and then leaves
At a military camp in Guwahati, Assam, a group of people playing football were startled when a wild elephant unexpectedly entered the field and took a brief role in the game. It is able to kick the ball back with its back legs. The elephant then slowly left the field while holding out its trunk in an apparent farewell gesture.
The elephant first crossed a road in the widely circulated social media footage before deciding to take part in the game. The wild elephant dragged in some dirt and sprayed itself on its back just before approaching the football field, so the players stopped the game and moved further out onto the field to maintain a safe distance from it.
Locals claimed that the enormous animal travelled from a nearby wildlife sanctuary in quest of food.
