Officials from the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry said recently that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was set to unveil the new look of the 2-kilometer Central Vista Avenue, which runs from India Gate to Rashtrapati Bhavan, on September 8. On September 9, the public will be allowed access to Delhi residents' favourite picnic area. Along with other facilities, there will be designated areas for food and ice cream vendors along the famous stretch from India Gate to Vijay Chowk. A new triangular Parliament building, a common central secretariat, the renovation of the three-kilometer-long Rajpath from Vijay Chowk to India Gate, a new prime minister's residence and office, and a new vice-enclave president's are all part of the Central Vista redevelopment project, which is the nation's power corridor.
