Puducherry: In a heinous incident, the mother of a student mixed poison in a soft drink for another boy as she could not tolerate him getting good marks than his son. The incident took place in the Karaikal city area of the Puducherry region. According to the reports, the accused was identified as Sahayarani Victoriya whose son is studying eighth class in a private school in Karaikal. The accused mixed poison pills in a soft drink and gave it to the school watchman asking him to give it to his son's classmate Bala Manikandan who is securing more marks than her son. The boy drank the cool drink and fell unconscious in the school. The alerted school staff immediately shifted him to the nearby hospital and he died while undergoing treatment.
