Thousands of people flock to observe the Khairtabad Ganesh idol, one of the most famous occasions on Hyderabad's calendar, which has a carnival-like atmosphere. In contrast to the 9-foot idol in 2020 during the first wave of COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, the idol this year stands 51 feet tall. The idol was 61 feet tall in 2019. One of the YouTubers released the drone-assisted first look puja video and described the procedure started by the Khairtabad Ganesh Utsav Committee members. The Khairatabad Ganesh Utsav Committee worked with 150 artists over the span of 86 days to produce an eco-friendly Ganesha idol for Ganesh Chaturthi in 2022 utilising clay and natural colours. This year, devotees can see the idol that manifested as Shri Panchamukha Mahalakshmi Ganapati.
