Komatireddy Venkat Reddy demands CM KCR to withdraw GO No. 246
On Sunday, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, a Congress member of Parliament from Bhongir, requested the State government to withdraw GO No. 246, which was introduced to revoke the water allocation to the Alimineti Madhava Reddy Project-Srisaliam Left Bank Canal (AMRP-SLBC).
Venkat Reddy, during a press conference held in his guest house in Nalgonda, claimed that the policy choices made by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao have had a negative influence on the interests of the district's farmers.
He emphasised that the Krishna River's approximately 45 TMC of water was assigned to SLBC for the use of the people of Nalgonda in accordance with the inter-State agreement of 1980. He said that the Chief Minister's activities were an attempt to incite unrest amongst the residents of the Mahabubnagar and Nalgonda districts.
Komatireddy Venkat Reddy announced that he would start a sit-in protest in Nalgonda, if the State administration fails to revoke GO No. 246.
